Beach weddings, much like daytime weddings, are not a time to go crazy with the makeup and prom-like hair. Keep it lovely by working the bright eyes and clean-looking skin. And, because you’re going to look naturally-pretty instead of hooker-hot, pick a dress with a fun neckline or a statement necklace to add a little something-something to your look.

The Hair: Heidi Klum’s partially pulled-back look is awesome for a beach wedding where wind may be the enemy.

1. This style works on straight or curly hair. All you have to do is blow out your hair if you’re super curly, and spritz in some Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray for texture.
2. Create a part and pull back.
3. For an extra sexy-sweet touch, part hair on the side and wear it down with a single jeweled bobby pin or small hair clip to keep your hair from blowing into your face.

The Makeup: Please, please do not wear full-face makeup to a daytime wedding, especially if you’re outside on a tropical island.

1. Instead of thick foundation, go with a tinted moisturizer like Laura Mercier’s, which also has light SPF—you don’t want to be a lobster the next day.
2. After applying the moisturizer, dab on under-eye brightener (like this one from Bobbi Brown) to squash any dark circles.
3. If you get shiny quickly, you may want to lightly apply a bit of sheer powder from NARS to keep the oil at bay without adding weight to your face.
4. For eyes, Vincent Longo’s Eye Shimmer Souffle in Lily Mist or Pavlova will give you a shimmery, semi-sparkly eye without looking trash-tastic. If the wedding’s going to continue into the night,ad a touch of light charcoal eyeliner pencil smudged right above the lashes. Of course, finish it off with a coat of mascara—waterproof if you’re weepy!
5. Use a nude-pink lip pencil as a base, covering not the entire lip, and top with a high-shine lip gloss in light pink. For the pencil, we like Makeup Forever’s Waterproof Lip Liner in Nude Beige. As a topper, MAC Lip Gelée is always uber-shiny. Jelly Babe looks sexy on all skin tones.
